The Mandeville Special Collections Library at the University of California, San Diego, is pleased to announce the publication of a new online exhibitions:<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Seuss Went to War: A Catalog of Political Cartoons<\/a> displays 388 political cartoons published by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) in the newspaper PM during the years 1941-43.  <\/span>The cartoons include caricatures of most of the world’s leaders at that time, and many of them were drawn to encourage support of the war and fundraising efforts such as the War Savings Bonds & Stamps program.  <\/span>Richard Minear, author of Dr. Seuss Goes to War, which published 200 of the cartoons included in the exhibit, has written the introduction to the exhibition.  <\/span>The cartoons are arranged chronologically and grouped by month.
